Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley announce ‘Star Wars’ contest to aid UNICEF –

April 11 (UPI) – Star Wars icon Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley appeared via video on Good Morning America Tuesday to reveal details of the Star Wars: Force For Change fundraising campaign.

Timed to coincide with the original Star Wars movie’s 40th anniversary, the event offers fans a chance to win unique prizes while raising money for UNICEF and Starlight Children’s Foundation.

People who enter at will have the opportunity to win a different prize each week for four weeks, such as the chance to appear in the upcoming untiled Han Solo movie, tickets to the world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, or an overnight stay at Skywalker Ranch.

“In a year that we celebrate 40 years of the Star Wars saga, I continue to be inspired by the incredible generosity and charitable efforts of our fans,” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. “We are so proud of their tireless dedication to positively impact the lives of children and others around the world, and hope this year’s Force For Change campaign will offer a few of those wonderful fans an experience they will never forget.”
