VILLAGERS claim a terrifying Chucky-style doll that moves and talks despite having its batteries removed is “possessed”.
The so-called supernatural activity emerged in Cusco in south-eastern Peru after the child’s doll was filmed speaking, blinking and rotating its head.
Video footage of the doll has been viewed by more than 61,000 YouTube viewers and tens of thousands more on social media.
In one clip, the blonde doll appears to move its head as one man talks to her before she turns towards him and winks.
A second clip shows a local pick up the doll and is startled when it says “thank you”.
The villagers claim that the doll says phrases such as: “I’ll bring you your happiness” and “Where am I?”
The creepy footage also shows the child’s toy slowly turning its head to one side as the person holding it opens the battery pack to find it empty.
Many online commenters are convinced the doll is possessed by a spirit.
But others are suspicious and believe the villagers have been taken in by pranksters.
Local Alexander Nino said: “She only talks when her hands are squeezed and she hasn’t done anything paranormal.
“Seriously, there are idiot people who think this is possessed.”
Chucky was the main character in the Child’s Play series of cult horror films featuring a serial killer’s spirit taking over a creepy-looking doll.
On Monday a bizarre video of a “ghost motorbike” cruising along a motorway outside Paris with no rider emerged.
The footage showed the riderless motorbike driving in a straight line on the A4 outside Paris on May 28.
