Feld Entertainment, which for more than a century orchestrated the Ringling Brothers circus, is unveiling the touring show Marvel Universe Live! Age of Heroes this week. It debuts at Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, with seven performances (including four matinees) on Friday-Sunday, June 7-9.

The production has plenty of circus elements, minus the animal acts. The lineup includes Spider-Man and the Wasp engaging in aerial stunts, and Captain America doing motorcycle tricks. These are augmented by fight scenes with video projections and loads of special effects.

There’s a plot, too, if you’re into that kind of thing. It involves Doctor Strange teaming with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers as they battle Loki, the Green Goblin and a cascade of villains over the Wand of Watoomb. The Wand, naturally, has immense powers.

Tickets starts at $25.

Marvel Universe Live! Age of Heroes is Friday-Sunday, June 7-9, at Staples Center, 1111 S. Figueroa St. or axs.com.
