Anna Faris and Chris Pratt to Separate – Vanity Fair

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are separating, Pratt wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday. The couple, who has been married since July 2009, have one son, 4-year-old Jack.

“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating,” the actor wrote. “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”

The acting couple met on the set of their 2007 film, Take Me Home Tonight, when Faris was still married to her first husband, actor Ben Indra. In a 2014 interview with Esquire, Pratt said that he was careful not to pursue Faris because he knew she was married. When Faris and Indra split in 2008, Pratt said he decided he was going to marry her.

The couple, who unknowingly grew up 20 minutes apart from each other in Washington state, shared a great deal in common, including, Pratt pointed out in the interview, the same scar on their left hand. He regarded Faris to be his “twin soul.”

Over the years, Pratt and Faris spoke openly on talk shows about their marriage and parenthood. In a January 2015 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Pratt said that he and Faris have a “remarkable kid.” The couple also frequently spoke of their affection for each other. In 2014, Faris told DeGeneres that she was “proud of [herself]” for having “great taste” in choosing Pratt, who went from Parks and Recreation funnyman to A-list action-film megastar in the span of a few short years.

“He’s a great family man. I am so proud of his success and everything. But he’s more importantly a great person, and he’s got a great heart.”
